Character Arts was established in 1999 by Jonathan Flom, an entertainment management, production and licensing industry veteran. The company’s primary focus has always been the dedicated management of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and all of the characters from the 1964-television special. The company also manages the classic holiday property Spookley the Square Pumpkin. Character Arts works across all media, including film, television, advertising, retail, location-based entertainment, music, publishing and charitable tie-ins.

Mr. Flom was a senior executive at CBS, HBO, Broadway Video, and Good Times Entertainment. His accomplishments include managing, merchandising, publishing, and international television distribution of programs for franchises including Saturday Night Live, Lassie, The Lone Ranger, and Felix the Cat. At HBO, Mr. Flom was a key member of the team that launched Comedy Central. He has also served as executive in charge of production for nearly two dozen television and motion picture productions, including The U.S. vs. John Lennon, Beautiful Dreamer: Brian Wilson and the Story of SMiLE, Kids in the Hall, Frosty Returns, and Who is Harry Nilsson?.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer has become as much a part of the Christmas tradition as Santa himself. Rudolph stars in the longest running and highest rated holiday television special of all time.
